Knights Score Late to Upend Gnats, 4-3
|
Takashi Ichikawa batted in 4 runs to lead Kingwood to a win over Nichols. The final score was 4-3. Ichikawa chipped in with 1 single and 1 home run. Kyle Jackson nailed down his 5th save. With the win, Kingwood improves its record to 13-11.
Ichikawa had a game-changing single in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Ernesto Sanchez, he banged a run-scoring single to right, giving the Knights a 4-3 lead. It was the 17th hit of the year for Ichikawa.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Ichikawa.
