In a remarkable performance, Memphis Blues starter Francisco Rodriguez beat the St. Paul Saints, 6-0, in an impressive 1-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Blues hurler finished with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," St. Paul manager Les Silvas said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
For this year, Rodriguez has chalked up 2 wins and no losses in 5 starts with 31 strikeouts in 34 innings and a 2.38 ERA.
