Drooping Dancin' Outlaws Lose 12th Straight
The Moonbeam Martians spoiled a good performance by West Virginia shortstop Danny Montes, bumping off West Virginia, 10-9, at Abbey Stadium. Montes was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. Picking up the save was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Josh Mullins. The Martians, now 17-5, have hit the ground running this season.

The Martians beat the Dancin' Outlaws in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Alex Matos produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Donzel Albertrani, Matos gave his team the lead, 10-9, when he hit a 2-run single.

"Baseball's a game where I feel like almost everything that happens is strange," said Matos. "Maybe that's why it's such a great game."
