Tornadoes Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
The Kansas City Tornadoes defeated the Dallas Texans, 9-6, in 11 innings. Much of the credit belonged to first baseman Emeril Ferrario, who went 2 for 6 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Tornadoes. Kansas City reliever Tony Miguel picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Michael Benz was saddled with the loss. The second-place Tornadoes now have a win-loss record of 24-19.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Vinnie Fasnacht came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Dallas pitcher Michael Benz, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Kansas City on top, 7-6.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Fasnacht. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
