Skidding Gremlins Lose 6th Straight
The Chicago Eclipse weathered an outstanding game by Houghton center fielder Edwin Montes to topple the Gremlins, 7-5. Montes went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Chicago reliever Oscar Zegarra picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Chris Wethington absorbed the loss. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Houghton.

Chicago won the game in part because of Enrique Zarate. The shortstop ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Eclipse ahead, 7-5. For the game, Zarate had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Zarate told the Chicago Daily News.
