The Victoria Vikings overcame a pretty good performance by Carmel designated hitter Greg Eckelberry, beating the Apples, 9-8, in 10 innings. Eckelberry went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. With the win, Victoria improves its record to 8-9.

Paul Hamlyn came through with a big-time hit for Victoria. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 9-8. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

In postgame comments, Hamlyn said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
