Conditions were not ideal but Okanagan and Charleston were able to put their game in the books.
The Okanagan Lake Monsters stymied the Charleston Panthers, 7-2, at Franklin Mountains Field. Alex Flores had a good day at the plate. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for Okanagan. Bill Lovett picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-1 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 3 in 7.2 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Denis Pisa stitched up the save, his 1st.
In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, the Panthers allowed the Lake Monsters to take a 3-2 lead on a base hit and Charleston error.
"I hopefully can keep it going and try to stay locked in as long as I can," said Flores.
The Panthers, now 5-15, continue their slow start.
