Carmel Carves Out 8-4 Win
At BLM Stadium, the Baltimore Magicians and Carmel Apples were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Baltimore Magicians got a superb performance from pitcher Alex Velasquez, but the Carmel Apples still won the game, 8-4. Velasquez threw 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Jonathan Johnson was the winner. Over 8 innings, he yielded 4 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.

Carmel took the lead, 8-4, on Dave Hyde's 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Baltimore pitcher Cesar Figueroa in the bottom of the eighth.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Hyde.

The win puts Carmel at 11-8.
