River Bandits Come Up Short at Brisbane
|
The Brisbane Bush Wackers scored a 9-8 win versus the San Antonio River Bandits at Baylor Ballpark. Brisbane third baseman Ernesto Rios nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Getting the save was Mike Wadleigh, his 4th. The River Bandits fall to 8-11 and continue their lackluster start to the 2044 season.
The Bush Wackers got a big at-bat from left fielder Jon Castillo. For the game, Castillo went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Brisbane a 9-8 lead.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Lester Burrow.
