Bel Air got a terrific performance from pitcher Jay Buhner Jr., but it wasn't enough to beat the Brisbane Bush Wackers. Brisbane won the Philip Banks Field contest, 2-1. Buhner Jr. was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Brisbane reliever Jonathan Gomez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Zack Meighan took the loss. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Gideon Harrison.

Both teams had trouble scoring runs. So, Tat Guang's at-bat in the top of the eighth was huge. With two out, the Brisbane first baseman hit a 2-run double, to give his team a 2-1 lead.

"Runs were at a premium," said Brisbane manager Lester Burrow.

The Bush Wackers, now 12-6, have played some good baseball in the early going.
