Panthers Rally Late to Clip St. Paul
|
The Charleston Panthers faced a tough opponent in St. Paul pitcher Caleb Newsom, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Saints Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Newsom went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Francisco Carbajal closed the door for Charleston, picking up his 1st save of the year. Charleston is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 5th in 15 games.
It could have been a different outcome for Charleston, had it not been for Rich Goad, the 22-year old right fielder . Goad contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Charleston up, 4-3.
Goad called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
