Panthers Best Crosscutters in Pitching Duel
|
Mo Davies never let Williamsport get something going. The Charleston left-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Panthers to a 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Davies, now 1-2. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 8. The Crosscutters, now 4-11, continue their sluggish start.
In the bottom of the third, second baseman Gerardo Fernandez hit a 2-run triple to left-center. The triple, which was hit off of Jorge Ortiz, gave Charleston a 2-1 lead.
"Both teams played hard," said Charleston manager Kinnojo Hara.
