The Charleston Panthers defeated the Niagara Falls Barrels, 9-5, in part because of center fielder Lynn Baxter. Baxter was 3-5 with a triple and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Panthers. Kenny Hoyles collected his 2nd save. The Barrels, now 3-11, continue their sluggish start.

In the top of the third, Baxter had a run-scoring double for Charleston. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Panthers on top, 1-0.

"Winning never gets dull," said Baxter.
