Lawmen Get Better of Saints, 3-2
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Marshall Lawmen and St. Paul Saints.
Bert Rivera had a good game, but he could not keep the St. Paul Saints from falling, 3-2, to the Marshall Lawmen at The Cell. The St. Paul third baseman went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double in the loss. Marshall reliever Terry Hahn picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Bill Antunez was tagged with the loss.
Randy Herber drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances against the Saints. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Marshall in front, 3-2.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said St. Paul manager Daisuke Nishida. "We just didn't cash in."
The win puts Marshall at 10-4.
