Kingwood Upended by St. Paul, 8-5
The St. Paul Saints knocked off the Kingwood Knights, 8-5, in TML HA action at Saints Ballpark. St. Paul pitcher and Holguín, Cuba, native Bobby Fontan had an outstanding performance. Fontan yielded 2 runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 9. His record improves to 1-2. Max Palenzuela earned the save for St. Paul, his 3rd.

Chris Craig had a big 2-run double for the Saints in the bottom of the second inning. With St. Paul leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Yuko Hamamoto and swatted a double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Saints ahead, 4-0.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Craig told a St. Paul Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

Kingwood, with the loss, is still a stout 11-4.
