Carmel laid the wood on Eugene at BLM Stadium.

The Carmel Apples knocked the living daylights out of the Eugene Emeralds, 21-1, at BLM Stadium. Carmel left fielder Wayne Keith was productive at the plate. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. The Emeralds, 5-7, continue their poor start to the 2063 campaign.

Carmel catcher Eugene Holden contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 8th hit of the season and put the Apples ahead, 4-0.

"That was unacceptable," barked losing manager , post-game, to no one in particular.
