Apples Nipped, 8-7, by San Antonio
The San Antonio River Bandits knocked off the Carmel Apples, 8-7, in RCL A action at Dr Pepper Stadium. San Antonio pitcher and Navajoa, Mexico, native Leo Mejia had an outstanding performance. Jesus Trevino notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Angel Bonilla picked up his 2nd save of the season.

Had Jeremy Joslyn not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Joslyn hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the River Bandits.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Joslyn told the San Antonio Observer.

With the win, San Antonio improves its record to 9-4.
