Charleston Sunk by Chippewa, 4-2
|
Chippewa River Chiefs starter Juan Sanchez pitched well against the Charleston Panthers at The Reservation, leading his team to a win, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Sanchez, now 2-0. He tossed 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 7 and fanning 9. The defeat makes the Panthers 6-9.
Bobby Perdomo had a big 2-run home run for the River Chiefs in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Chippewa leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a slider from Harry Gardner and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the River Chiefs ahead, 3-0.
Chippewa manager Pang Yip commended his team for "bagging a nice win."
