The Memphis Blues picked up a win at The Barn, dropping the Chippewa River Chiefs, 4-2. Bill Larimore was the difference-maker. Larimore yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-0. Bobby Gottlieb closed the door for Memphis, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Memphis took a 4-2 lead on Randy Haines's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Haines hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Chippewa pitcher Dan Schmus visibly frustrated.
"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Blues manager Mike Williams.
The Blues, now 12-1, have had a terrific start to the season.
