Eclipse Fall to Pioneers, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Vancouver Pioneers and the Chicago Eclipse, Jeff Prudhomme, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2060 draft, was the difference-maker. The Vancouver right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. In 7 innings, Prudhomme surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The Pioneers move to 20-23 with the win, while the Eclipse drop to 24-19.
Had Wonus Hagner not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Hagner hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Pioneers.
"I was able to get good plays made behind me," Prudhomme said. "And I was able to make pitches when I needed to make pitches."
