Caudill has 4 hit day as Road Warriors Squeeze Past San Antonio
|
Westside beat San Antonio at Dr Pepper Stadium, eking out a 7-6 win. The win was due in large part to designated hitter James Caudill, who earned player of the game honors. Westside reliever Salvador Cruz picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. David Carrasco was collared with the loss. The Road Warriors are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 4th win in 9 games.
Westside took the lead in the top of the eighth when Caudill hit a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season made the score 7-5, Westside.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Caudill told reporters after the game.
