The Bloomington Blazers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Montreal catcher Jean-Louis Barrier by beating the Mounties, 8-6, at Arson Arena. Barrier was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jared Simms was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. With the win over Montreal, the Blazers improved to 19-23.

Early in the game, right fielder Lateef Zitouna had a 2-run double for Bloomington. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Blazers on top, 2-1.

"We ground out the win," said Zitouna. "That's all that matters."
