The Montreal Mounties handed the Cabo San Lucas Toreros a 6-4 defeat at Field de Los Layendas. First Baseman Jared Jones starred for Montreal. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs. Montreal pitcher Randy Mowers earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Charlie Doane suffered the loss. Eric Wilkinson closed it out for his 13th save.

Montreal used the timely hitting of J.N. Martin to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mounties on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"No time for posing," said Martin. "The next game will be here before you know it."
