Thunder Lose to Hazleton, 6-5
|
Hazleton beat Elizabeth Town at Valhalla Summit, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to third baseman Luke Fourhman. He went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Freddy Hernandez earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 5 runs on 6 hits in 4.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The save went to Randy McCafferty, number 3 for him.
Jesse Taylor was 1 for 2 with 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs for Hazleton. The 20-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off David Lugo. It was his 5th walk of the season.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Taylor said.
The win puts Hazleton at 3-2.
