Getting an impressive start from Bobby Loscalzo, Eureka beat Havana by the score of 4-2. The save was credited to Matt Acrey, his 11th. The second-place Hornets lifted their record to 32-18.

The Hornets got a big at-bat from second baseman Brian Carr. For the game, Carr went 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Eureka a 2-0 lead.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Eureka manager Juan Montés.
