Rain could not dampen the pregame excitement of Bighorn fans. But the subsequent loss, and a disappointing one at that, to the Ramrods had to.
The Huntington Station Ramrods marched over the Bighorn Bison, 12-2, at Ram Brewery Ballpark. Michio Matsumoto, who finished 5th in the RCL in OPS with .831 in 2058, led the charge. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Huntington Station is now 18-24. Bighorn is 16-28.
Huntington Station used the hitting of Dean Hrusovsky to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Ramrods on top, 4-0. For the game, Hrusovsky had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Said Bighorn manager Yoshihiro Takahashi after the blowout loss: "Son of a gun."
