The The Pond faithful were treated to an exciting walk-off win.

The Nichols Gnats got a stellar effort from pitcher Danny Koger, helping Nichols score a 2-1 win over the visiting San Angelo Mustangs. Alex Ellis, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings.

There were several reasons the Gnats beat the Mustangs, but one factor was Hugo Ruiz. In the bottom of the ninth, the Nichols shortstop came to bat and hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 2-1 lead.

"This place was rocking at the end," Ruiz said.

The loss drops San Angelo to 1-1.
