On Road, Hawaii Beats Manhattan, 4-3
|
Ashton Dillon had a good game, but he could not keep the Manhattan Slice from falling, 4-3, to the Hawaii Honu at Copps Park. The Manhattan left fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Chris Sweeney, the winner, is now 4-1. He struck out 2 and walked 2 over 6.1 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. Hawaii is third in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division with a record of 21-22.
Had Sandy Rosales not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rosales hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Honu.
"Both teams played hard," said Hawaii manager Naoki Okada.
