Lake Monsters Winners, 6-1, at The Reservation
The Reservation was the site of the home opener for the Chippewa River Chiefs. The contest featured a prime matchup between Roberto Orellana of the visiting Okanagan Lake Monsters and Steve Lees of the River Chiefs. The final score was 6-1, the Lake Monsters getting the win. Roberto Orellana turned in the best performance.

It could have been a different outcome for Okanagan, had it not been for Gérard Lamy, the 24-year old catcher . Lamy contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Okanagan up, 3-1.

"That was a really good outing by Roberto," said Okanagan manager Landy Lu.
