|
The Louisiana Crocodiles topped the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 5-4, the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Ramon Roman. On the day, Roman was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk for the Crocodiles. Aaron Doerr nailed down the save. The Pipe Fitters, now 64-75, have lost 4 in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Rafael Arevalo came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Niagara Falls pitcher Kelile Rashid, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Louisiana on top, 5-4.
Roman told reporters after the game: "Took some doing, but we got it done."
