Rios Deals Murraysville 4-1 Setback
|
Dave Rios, who is tied for 6th in the TAA in complete games with 3, never let the Peacocks get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Seagulls to a win, 4-1. Rodolfo de Gante sewed up the save, his 26th. Clearwater goes to 69-70, Murraysville to 66-73.
Rios was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 15-9. In 8 innings of work, Rios gave up 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 5. The Peacocks were never able to generate much offense.
"I'm happy we won," said Rios. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
