The Mustang grabbed a win, 6-4, at Howling Park, overcoming a fine effort from Wichita pitcher Luis Jacinto. Jacinto went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs. Kevin Bryant, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. Getting the save was Matt Nicholas, his 1st.
Tom Nelis, who is tied for 9th in the TAA in home runs with 19, helped out the Carson City cause in the top of the seventh inning with a 3-run home run. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Nelis attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
The Mustang bumped their record to 71-67 with this latest triumph.
