Spartans Swat Black Bears, 11-1
Due in large part to right fielder Jay Helmke, the Sandy Springs Spartans sunk the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 11-1. Helmke went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The victory gives Sandy Springs a record of 83-78.

Sandy Springs used a well-timed hit by Brian Hill to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Spartans ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.

"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Hill.
