Kansas City Rallies Past Chicago, 2-1
|
The Tornadoes faced a stiff challenge from Chicago pitcher Jesse Hemmelgarn, but persevered to claim a win at Debris Field. The final score was 2-1. Hemmelgarn went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. This win makes it 5 in a row for Kansas City.
The decisive blow was delivered by Vinnie Fasnacht in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off former first overall pick Pete Alexander to win the game for Kansas City. The home crowd went nuts.
"I was seeing the ball well tonight," said Fasnacht.
