Boston 87-50 After 8-4 Win Over Niagara Falls
|
At Pipe Fitters Park, the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters and Boston Whitecaps were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Boston Whitecaps picked up a win at Pipe Fitters Park, knocking off the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 8-4. Starting pitcher Joe Jungbauer played a key role in the triumph. Boston is now 87-50, 16½ games up in the TML AA Jim Leyland Division.
Earl Chapman delivered a big hit for Boston. The pinch hitter drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Whitecaps ahead, 8-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"I like the makeup of this team," said Whitecaps manager T.J. Hall.
