Red Bulls Fall to Hawks, 8-4
|
The Boise Hawks topped the Riverside Red Bulls, 8-4, with catcher Jon Carrizales playing a big role. Carrizales went 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Hawks in the win. The last-place Hawks now have a win-loss record of 71-89.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the third, with Boise trailing 4-3, Anthony Michaud was at the plate when Boise scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Hawks to go in front, 5-4.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Carrizales told the Boise Citizen. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
