Big Day for Morris in 6-2 Peacocks Win
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old third baseman Nick Morris, the Murraysville Peacocks defeated the Boise Hawks, 6-2. The winning pitcher was Ken Evans. He's now 4-2. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits for the Peacocks. Nick Tullo collected save number 2.
With Murraysville trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Morris hit a fastball from Tatsuhi Naki for a 2-run double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Peacocks ahead, 2-1.
Morris attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The 6th-place Peacocks now have a record of 66-72.
