The Louisiana Crocodiles downed the Kelowna Rockets, 5-0, at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. Louisiana pitcher Edgar Melendez had a scintillating performance. Melendez got the win, improving to 3-6. He gave up 3 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Louisiana raised its record to 71-67 with the win.

It could have been a different outcome for Louisiana, had it not been for Salvatore Vasquez, the 19-year old right fielder . Vasquez contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Louisiana up, 3-0.

Vasquez called the win "a team effort."
