Wes Williams added some punch to the DeKalb offense, helping them outmuscle the Rock River Rats, 11-7. In the game, Williams, who is tied for 10th in the TAA with a .924 OPS, went 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. Ricky Guzman got the win, improving to 8-8. He held the Rats to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The first-place Cornhuskers, at 97-63, now lead their division by 7 games.
DeKalb used a timely hit from Rodolfo Pimentel to get the win. The shortstop delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the second inning to put the Cornhuskers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
