Marauders Lose Again, 2-1, to Beehive
|
Madison rode a fine outing from starter Fei-hsien Xun to victory over the Bradenton Marauders at The Hive. The final score was 2-1. Madison reliever Alberto Mendez picked up the win, upping his record to 11-9. Jorge Gamboa absorbed the loss. Connor Moody converted his 18th save in 25 tries.
Had Carlos Guzman not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Guzman hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Beehive.
Guzman said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The last-place Marauders have lost 6 straight games.
