Jackson, Beetlecats Get Tidy 1-0 Win Over Marysville
Buzzard's Bay starter Phil Jackson put a stranglehold on the Marysville offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Beetlecats to a 1-0 win. John Peters earned his 40th save in 48 tries. The 5th-place Monarchs have lost 4 straight games.

Jackson, a native of Shelby, North Carolina, was dealing all game. He kept Marysville hitters off-balance, while giving the Beetlecats 7.1 quality innings. Jackson threw 80 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 7.

"You can't win if you don't score any runs," said losing manager Michael Fitzgerald. "You don't need Confucius to tell you that."
