The Sandy Springs Spartans and Spokane Bulldogs provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Sandy Springs Spartans got a sterling performance from center fielder Ian Sturgeon, but the Spokane Bulldogs still prevailed, 4-3. Sturgeon was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times. Andres Pabon earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-1.

In the bottom of the 4th, Spokane took the lead on a 2-run single by John Ramos. At the time, the Bulldogs were trailing 2-1, but Ramos's hit with two outs against Sandy Springs pitcher Patrick Perillo put them in front, 3-2.

"We were the better team," crowed Ramos.
