Buxton Stars for Drillers in 7-0 Win
|
The Beaumont Drillers topped the Louisiana Crocodiles, 7-0, in RCL AA action at Drillers Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Beaumont first baseman Adam Buxton. Beaumont starter David Sasser was credited with the win after throwing 87 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 4-4. The Drillers saw their record improve to 71-64.
The Drillers got a big at-bat from third baseman Dan Sierra. For the game, Sierra went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 25th double of the season gave Beaumont a 1-0 lead.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Sierra said in reaction to the win.
