Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Sam Howell, the Marysville Monarchs lost to the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 5-3. Howell went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The defeat makes Marysville 48-110.

Jon Kincaid went 1 for 3 with 2 walks. He scored 2 times for Buzzard's Bay. The 26-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Carlos Rivera. It was his 35th walk of the season.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Buzzard's Bay manager Dorian Payne. "It's usually not just one thing."
