Royals Improve to 82-52 with 3-1 Win
|
In a well-pitched game between the Windsor Royals and the Sandy Springs Spartans, pitcher Patrick Woolley was superb. The Windsor left-hander helped his team win, 3-1. Woolley, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 5 walks. Nick Pratt closed it out for his 7th save.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Royals had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when shortstop Arturo Tijerina hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Cesar Magana and made the score 1-0, Royals. Tijerina was 1-3.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Woolley.
