Eureka Makes It 6 Straight with 6-5 Win
Eureka beat Havana at The Humidor, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to center fielder Josh Sweet. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Cesar Romo, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. Matt Acrey earned save number 10 this season.

Ray Goodwin came through with a big-time hit for Eureka. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Eureka manager Juan Montés.

At 31-18, the Hornets are currently second in the Roberto Clemente League Central Division.
