Bishops Pick Up 4-3 Win Over Niagara Falls
|
The Evanston Bishops managed to get by the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 4-3, at Pipe Fitters Park. Evanston pitcher Alex Florez set himself apart with his performance. Evanston reliever Alex Florez was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-0. Eli Carpenter took the loss for Niagara Falls. Willis Paulino recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 9 for 11.
It could have been a different outcome for Evanston, had it not been for Chris Hendricks, the 26-year old left fielder . Hendricks contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Evanston up, 2-0.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Florez. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
The victory gives the Bishops a record of 91-64.
