Monarchs Jolt Canucks, 3-1, with Late Rally
The Marysville Monarchs rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Ken McCutcheon to a win, beating the Moose Jaw Canucks, 3-1, at Ashton Gate. Marysville reliever Kelby Balaski picked up the win. Justin Schroeder, who is tied for 6th in the RAA in saves with 16, took the loss for Moose Jaw. The save went to Carlos Moreno, his 4th this season.

Marysville used a timely hit from Marco Moreno to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Monarchs ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Moreno.

The win cannot erase the fact that Marysville still has a disappointing 47-108 record.
