DeKalb pitcher Ciro Della Volpe had a large part in his team beating the Wichita Wolverines, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. John Kibler wrapped it up, recording his 1st save. The Cornhuskers now own a record of 74-78.

DeKalb used the clutch hitting of Byron Mundis to snag the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cornhuskers ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
