Bullman Goes Wild, But Storm Troopers Win
|
Madison designated hitter Eric Bullman had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Bullman was 3-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice, even as San Antonio beat the Beehive, 7-6. Bullman was named the player of the game despite the loss. Jose Soto, the winner, improved to 1-3. He held Madison to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Dave Sheldon earned his 9th save in 13 chances.
Tyler Link dealt the Beehive a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with the bases loaded and San Antonio leading 1-0, Link, who is tied for 9th in the TAA in home runs with 23, hit a 3-1 fastball for a 2-run double.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Link.
San Antonio is 80-74 and Madison, with the loss, 85-66.
