Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Wichita Wolverines and DeKalb Cornhuskers.
Wichita Wolverines starter Nelson Soto led his team to victory over the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 2-1. The right-hander was locked-in. Soto got the win, improving to 2-4. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs.
Wichita took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Colby McAbee hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Wolverines in front, 2-1.
"Nelson kept his poise and got the job done," said Wichita manager Abel Keller. "He was outstanding."
Wichita goes to 54-96, DeKalb to 73-78.
