Pipe Fitters Lose, 7-3
|
The Fraser Valley Black Bears welcomed the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters to an night game at Pipe Fitters Park.
The Fraser Valley Black Bears bested the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 7-3, at Pipe Fitters Park. Roy Rudolph was one of the standouts. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Jesus Cervantes. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 2.
Fraser Valley used a clutch at-bat from Xiao-mei Lum to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Black Bears ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Rudolph said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
Fraser Valley has now won 3 in a row.
