Stogies Stumble, Lose to Hornets
The Eureka Hornets coasted to a win over the Havana Stogies, 11-3. Xavier Karin had a good day at the plate for Eureka. He was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 4 runs. Bobby Loscalzo got the win, improving to 5-4. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 0 and walking 2. Eureka is now 29-19.

Ray Goodwin had a big 2-run double for the Hornets in the top of the fourth inning. With Eureka trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Fabien Nuvolari, who is tied for 4th in the RCL in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hornets ahead, 3-2.
